INGREDIENTS
Add roasted gram flour and rice flour and remaining ingredients and mix well. Stir in enough water to make a soft dough. With the help of chakkali press make chakkalis.
Deep fry these in hot oil till light brown. Drain on paper towel. Store in an airtight container when cool
Mix all the ingredients with water and make a soft dough like chapatti dough
Kneed it with hand or with dough maker

Roll the dough and stuff this into the chaklee maker
Dough stuffing
Close the lid and its ready for pressing
Press to make round shape on the oil applied plastic sheet so that it will be easy to lift later
Make small 3-5 and deep fry in oil
Oil should be hot to test put a small piece of dough in oil and if dough sinks then oil is not hot and if hot it starts to float and deep fry till it turns golden brown colour
Deep fry with constant rotating on both sides
Use mesh spatula to lift the chakali from oil
Put it on tissue paper to absorb the excess oil
Chakali's are ready to eat 😊
- 1.0c Roasted/ fried gram flour
- 2.0c Rice flour
- 2.0Tbsp jeera cumin seeds
- 1.0tsp carom seeds(ajwain)
- 1/4tsp asafoetida
- Salt to taste
- 3.0tsp hot oil
- Water to make a dough
