This is my take of the shortcrust pastry after many tries on making it as the ingredients are always available in the kitchen. The supplies quantity aren't very accurate but you can't miss with it 😊
Put the flour and salt in a deep bowl
Get the hard cubed butter and add it on the flour
Using your fingers, start rubbing the butter fast with the flour as your are trying to squeeze the butter with the flour
It will start looking like small balls of buttery flour, make sure they are small and not big lumps
Things that can happen is the mixture can be too dry and lots of flour, add more butter in it. If its too buttery add more flour to make it balanced 😉
Now add water to it slowly, make sure to mix it while doing so, you don't want too much water, if that happened add more flour to dry it. You want the dough to be not sticky and not dry
Put it in a film or a bag and chill it and use it when needed
Use it as needed for baking stuff. Enjoy 😉
