How to make savory granola

This spicy and savory granola makes a great bar snack, on the go snack or dinner topping. I love it with chicken as a breading-like topper.

STEPS
INGREDIENTS

Preheat oven to 275°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

If using coconut oil you may want to heat it first, a few seconds in the microwave just to liquify the oil. Then combine with seasonings.

In a medium bowl (I recommend glass) combine oil, maple syrup, salt, and seasonings (everything but the oats and nuts). Stir until mixed.

Crush cashews slightly if using whole nuts

In a large bowl combine oats and nuts, and any additional items of your choice. Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etc. Mix in seasonings and oil. Mix well with hands or wooden spoon.

Evenly distribute on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 55 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes then every 15-20 so it bakes evenly.

Paper towel and foil for oil absorbing and cooling.
