Felt your sweaters by using a hot wash/cold rinse cycle on your washing machine. A few cycles may be needed. Then dry them on high heat and lay flat to cool without wrinkles.

Once felted, cut the sweaters into 1 1/2 inch strips and then cut strips into 1 1/2 inch squares.
