How to make quick french toast

A basic and quick French toast recipe. Feel free to build on it with powdered sugar or fresh fruit.

Add the syrup to the bowl. Beat the ingredients with a fork until well combined. If you desire a sweeter ft add the brown sugar here as well.

Have your bread ready to dip. I usually prefer thick sliced bread for this, but I had regular honey wheat sliced bread on hand.

Dip the bread into the egg mixture coating both sides well.

Add 2 tablespoons of the butter to a pan on high. Once the butter has melted, lower the heat to medium high or so.

Add 2 slices of coated bread to the pan. Cook about 2 minutes per side until brown. Keep an eye on it, it can get black and burnt fairly quickly. Then start on the next 2 slices with remaining butter.

  • 3.0 Eggs
  • More butter and syrup to top
  • 1.0Tbsp Brown sugar (optional, if you desire sweeter ft)
