How to make quick decorative storage

Begin by coating your base with black gesso.

Next add decorarative washi tape. I love that this one from Graphic 45 is wide and it has great text and fonts. Be sure to burnish down your edges.

To get around the knob I simply cut some slits and trimmed the tape away. I tried to remove the knob to use different hardware and avoid this issue, but I could not get it off!

Here you can see the project is mostly covered in tape.

Next I layered on some silver gilders paste to bring out some texture.

I decided I wanted to add a little trim around the box so I ran some Dresden scrap through my Xyron machine.

Now it is time to prime the feet. To get keep my colors consistent, I added a layer of gilders paste here too.

Last I glued the feet on and spritzed the inside chambers of the box with Perfect Pearls mist to create a metal effect.

Now fill your box with a special collection and show it off!
