INGREDIENTS
Preheat oven to BROIL
Place skillet on burner
Add sausage to skillet
Cook sausage until it is brown (fully cooked). Make sure to stir the sausage with a spatula while it is cooking to prevent it from burning.
Using knife and cutting board cut the cheese into small squares.
Using an egg slicer put 1 olive at a time into the base and press the handle down. This will slice the olives
Using a spoon scoop out the inside of the mushroom.
Wash mushrooms in sink
Put mushrooms on baking sheet.
Add olive oil to small bowl then dip a pastry brush into bowl.Brush the mushrooms with olive oil
Broil mushroom for 5 minutes
Take mushrooms out of oven using a oven mitt.
Turn mushrooms over using tongs
Place mushrooms back in oven and broil for 5 minutes.
Add 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce to each mushroom
Put3 cups mozzarella into bowl
Put 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese into bowl.
Mix cheeses together using a spoon
Add about 3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture to each of the mushroom caps
Add 1 tablespoon of sausage to each mushroom cap.
Add 4-8 olive slices to each mushroom cap
Add 1/8 teaspoon of oregano to top of each cap
Place mushrooms back into oven for 3 minutes.
Remove mushrooms from oven using oven mitt
- 10 portobello mushrooms
- 1 quart marinara sauce (we will use homeade)
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- oregano
- 1 pound sausage
- Olive oil
- 1 can olives
