INGREDIENTS
Ingredients laid out for pizza dough/base
Transfer whole meal flour to a mixing bowl
Also add in the plain flour and pour 2tbs olive oil
1tsp salt
1tsp yeast
Add warm water
Mix with hand or spoon
Cover with plastic film and keep for 2 hours
It's risen after few hours. Knead it by sprinkling dry flour. Knead it for few minutes until it stops sticking and shape it into a ball
Spread on an aluminum sheet or any baking sheet. Don't forget to oil the sheet before rolling out pizza dough on it
Smear some olive oil on the base before topping it
Toppings. Diced onions, capsicum, tomatoes and black olives
Brown sugar. I sprinkled some right on top of the pizza sauce to give a little tanginess
Smear pizza sauce. Sprinkle brown sugar/muscavado on the sauce(it'll Caramelize nicely n infuse with the sauce). Spread cottage cheese next
Spread onions
Capsicum
Tomato n black olives. Choose any toppings you like. Millions to choose from
Another final layer of cheese. You can use mozzarella as well. Since mozzarella is a fattening cheese I stuck to cheddar only. Normally a mix of cheddar n mozzarella is used
Top it off with little olive oil
Sprinkle oregano leaves. It's aroma works up your appetite for pizza. Pop your pizza in pre-heated oven for 35-40 min
Ready to serve. You can make it as cheesy as you want. I wanted it a bit like bruschetta (with a lovely crisp) since I'm not a big fan of conventional cheese so I skimped out on cheese
Gorgeously browned (and a lil crispy from the bottom like bruschetta but soft on top). Bon apetite!
- 1.0c Whole meal flour
- 1.0c Plain flour
- 3.0Tbsp Olive oil
- 1.0tsp Dry yeast
- 1.0c Warm water
- 1/2tsp Salt
- 1.0 Medium sized Onion
- 2.0 Tomatoes
- 1.0 Medium sized capsicum
- Black olives
- Pizza sauce
- Brown sugar
- 1.0c Cheddar cheese
