Pickling spices I use a teaspoon or two of each with 3 crushed bay leaves •red pepper flakes •kosher salt •ground pepper•dill seeds •celery seeds •coriander •chipotle •granulated onion &garlic •cloves
Boil 8 eggs for 20 mins or until eggs begin to slightly crack
Once eggs are done I place them In a bowl and run cool water over them. Tap egg to crack and begin to gently peel... I find peeling under water or with running water is easiest
Once peeled place in sterilized glass jar.
Whole cloves about 1 tablespoon will be added to the jar.
Add cloves and 6-8 pickled pearl onions to the eggs in the jar.
Add 3 cups distilled white vinegar to sauce pan
Add one table spoon of the pickling spice to the vinegar and turn on medium heat.
Bring mixture to a boil. Boil over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Pour the mixture into a measuring bowl to easily pour into the glass jar.
Add vinegar mixture while still hot to the eggs, pearl onions, and cloves.
Tightly seal the jar and let stand on kitchen counter for 24 hours (or just overnight) then place in refrigerator and let them "pickle" for at least 2-3 days. The longer the better! ENJOY!!
