How to make payne's grey acrylic paint

Payne's grey is a popular grey in watercolour painting but in an acrylic painting it's slightly purple tone can be just the thing for use in underpainting or to deepen shadowy areas.

Place a splodge of Ultramarine paint on your palette and cautiously add Burnt Sienna until you get a warm grey. Add Zinc White to lighten the paint without substantially changing it's tone.
