How to make over a rusty can

Make Over a Rusty Can

I found an "American" skoal can at an antique/ thrift store. I cleaned it up with soap and water.

Then I gessoed the can inside and out. I used white gesso on top and black on the sides.

I then mod podged the decorative scrapbook paper on the middle of the can. It doesn't have to cover the whole thing.

Then I added decorative tape to the bottom of the can and decorative ribbon on the top. I also added decorative cording to the lid for an extra touch.

This project can hold a sewing kit. It can hold small objects you don't want to lose. Medicine or candy mints. The possibilities are endless.
