Place you artichokes on a cutting board.
Using a very sharp knife, cut the stem down to a nubbin.
Cut the top of the artichoke off as well.
Mix together your crushed garlic, a stick of butter and about 1/3 cup of Parmesan to create a paste.
Smush the mixture into the grooves of the artichoke.
Place your prepared artichokes into a crock pot.
Add 1 cup white wine to the basin.
Add 1 cup water to basin.
Sprinkle with salt.
A dash of pepper and cover.
Place on high for 4 hours.
Artichokes are done when a fork will easily go into the stem.
Serve.
I like mine as is but you can dip the leaves in butter or aioli.
