I like to rinse my rice 2 or 3 times before cooking

Slice the beef thinly

Mix a tablespoon of corn starch, two tablespoons of soy sauce and two tablespoons of either dry sherry or saki

Mix in the sliced beef - marinate for 20 minutes

Mince 3 cloves of garlic

Slice up two bunches of green onions

Heat some vegetable oil and a little sesame seed oil in a wok

Sauté the beef until no longer pink; remove from the wok

Add the garlic and some red pepper flakes just until fragrant

Add the green onions; cook for 30 seconds

Add the beef back in; add in a tablespoon of soy sauce and a tablespoon of hoisin sauce

Serve over steamed Jasmine rice
