STEPS
INGREDIENTS
Gather all of your ingredients.
Cut each hot in half and then insert a lollipop stick in the end that has been cut. Make sure to dry off each hot dog with a paper towel so your cornmeal coating sticks.
In a large bowl, add cornmeal.
Add flour.
Add sugar.
Add baking powder.
Add salt. Mix to combine and then set aside.
In another bowl, add your milk.
Add egg and whisk.
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until combined.
Dip each hot dog in the batter until it's completely coated.
Add 4 inches of oil to a large pot. Using the deep-fry thermometer to heat the oil until it reaches 360 degrees F.
Lower each hot dog into the hot oil and fry until crispy, about 3 minutes.
Transfer the finished corn dogs to a paper towel-lined plate.
Repeat until all hot dogs have been fried.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy!
