INGREDIENTS
These are some sour plums I picked from a tree in front of my house. Forage your neighborhood for fresh fruit. Ask nicely or wear your ninja suit and grab them at night.
Sweeten with sugar to taste, depends on the sweetness of your fruit and your taste buds. I used about 1/4 cup for 2 pounds plums.
Add water and cook on high heat while mashing them buggers up. Bring to a boil.
Once thoroughly mashed and softened reduce temp to low and simmer.
Strain seeds make sure to get them all.
After strained, I used my immersion blender to make sure there were no chunks. Keep reducing until a syrup consistency forms, about an hour.
Pour thin layer on baking paper & pop into a warm oven @ 170F until tacky for 12-48 hrs. I had to cycle my oven on warm every hour or so until done, about 30 hrs total
Once dried slice into strips and keep in the fridge. I like sour fruit Roll ups so I picked the fruit before fully ripened. You can add lemon juice after syrup has been reduced if not sour enough.
Enjoy!
