INGREDIENTS
first, get out all of the ingredients that will be needed to make the tortillas
combine the flour, salt, and baking soda into a bowl and whisk them together
combine the canola oil with the other ingredients and mix it together with your hands until it resembles cornmeal
next, add the water to the mixture
mix the water in until the dough begins to come together
next, move to a flat surface that is lightly covered with flour. begin kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic
begin separating the dough and making it into 20 small balls
next, use a floured rolling pin and roll the balls of dough into thin, flat tortillas
begin heating a medium sized pan at medium heat with canola oil in it
then begin cooking the tortillas on the heated pan one at a time. once the oil begins bubbling, flip the tortilla to the opposite side.
cook the tortillas until they are golden on both sides, and then enjoy :)
- 4.0c flour
- 1.0tsp salt
- 2.0tsp baking powder
- 2.0Tbsp canola oil
- 1/2c water
