Boil potatoes until tender. You should be able to use a fork and easily cut through the potato.
Put potato chunks in a bowl and add the butter. Mix well using a potato masher or a hand mixer as shown.
Add a few splashes of milk, then mix. Continue in this manner until the potatoes are the consistency you like (less milk for chunky mashed potatoes; more milk for smoother mashed potatoes.)
You could also add another ingredient for variation. Choose either sour cream, ranch dressing, even a little bit of condensed french onion soup! Be creative! Cooking is supposed to be fun!
Add salt and pepper and stir.
Sprinkle chopped green onions on top for appearance. Remember... A dish that LOOKS appetizing, IS appetizing! Serve and enjoy!
