How to make henna designs

Start with a little swirl. Ink pens work best to define the design more than a regular ballpoint pen.

Draw small petals around the swirl. Keep your hand steady and relaxed.

Draw larger petals around the small set of petals.

Next, draw larger petals to create a nice flower design. You can pick any kind of petal design. This one is my favorite.

Add small lines inside the large petals to create an intricate effect. Lightly press on your pen and move away from the center of the flower.

Darken all the lines by going over the flower with your ink pen.

Lets expand the design by adding a swirl to the side. Remember to draw nice and slowly and keep your hand steady and relaxed to get the smoothest curves.

Add another curve around the first swirl

Add small petals to the curve.

Lets try adding spaced out petals again

Outline the petals.

Add lines inside the blank spots of the design.

Lets expand again. Try drawing this paisley style design.

Some more swirls can be added inside the indentation of the paisley.

Add petals to the paisley.

Fill in the paisley with any kind of repeated design.

Add small 'tear-drops' surrounding the design to add a more filled in look.
