Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Melt 1/2 cup butter.
In one bowl, stir in white sugar, eggs, applesauce, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. In another bowl, beat in 1/3 cup cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
Mix both bowls and Spread into a pan.
Place in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes
