Assemble your ingredients on a clean work surface.
Using a sharp knife, slice avocado in half.
Use knife to remove pit. Discard pit.
Carefully slice avocado vertically, then horizontally to create squares. Be careful not to cut through the skin.
Sprinkle with sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
Use a fork to detach the cubes from the skin of the avocado.
The cubes will become completely detached from the skin. Grip the half avocado with one hand and use a fork to begin gently mashing the chunks.
Continue mashing (about 1 min) until the chunks become a consistent paste.
Repeat the same process for the other side of the avocado.
Garnish with sea salt and freshly ground pepper. Serve directly on a plate as a side dish or condiment (one half per person).
