To get good detail get up close and personal!! When taking pictures of animals remember the 3 S's: silence, speed and steadiness.

Crop.

Saturation, brightness and contrast bring out colors best. I suggest using Snapseed for this.

Straighten is also a handy tool in Snapseed.

And remember, make sure your photos are in FOCUS!!!
