How to make gingerbread cookies (unit 6, 1-4)

Make Gingerbread Cookies (Unit 6, 1-4)

Place oven racks on 2 & 4. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, nutmeg and salt in a medium bowl.

Beat the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy!

Add molasses, egg and vanilla together, then beat well. Gradually beat in the flour mixture on low speed until well combined.

Press the dough into a ball and wrap it with a plastic wrap. Place the dough in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls then roll the ball in granulated sugar. Place the balls 2 inches apart on the parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies just begin to brown. IMMEDIATELY press a couple of white chocolate chips into the centre of the cookies.

Move the cookies onto a wire rack and cool it completely.
