Gather all your supplies: cardboard, scissors, paint, foam brush, 2 balls of different colored yarn, and a marker
Draw a circle onto cardboard with a marker, you may trace a styrofoam plate if you need to
Draw 16 lines on your circle, make sure the lines are roughly an inch apart and try to make them equally spaced. Now, cut your circle out.
Paint your cardboard circle on the side with no lines. You may use a paintbrush or foam brush
Paint and let dry
Take your scissors and cut slits on the lines that you made on the back of the cardboard, the slits should be about one inch deep
Take your first ball of yarn and make a knot at one end
Place the knot behind one of the slits and pull the yarn through it.
Pull the yarn across the cardboard and pull it through the slit diagonal from the first slit. Wrap the yarn around the back of the cardboard
Pull the yarn through the slit to the left of the first slit, then pull the yarn across the cardboard
Repeat the pattern until you have gone through all the slits twice
Take your second ball of yarn and tie a knot on one end
Pull the yarn through one of the slits and pull across the cardboard to the slit diagonal from the first slit. Follow the same pattern as you did with the first color of yarn
Wrap the yarn around the back of the cardboard and pull it through the slit to the left of the first slit. Pull the yarn across the front of the cardboard and pull it through the next slit
Repeat the pattern until you have gone through all the slits twice
