For gatte Grind green chillies, garlic and ginger into fine paste. Take a large bowl add chickpea flour , curd , green chillies, garlic and ginger paste , carrom seeds , salt .
Knead this mix so its a hard dough and roll into long one inch thich cylinders 5 inches long. Boil water in wide pan and once water boils add the gatte to it. It will immediately sink .
One the gatte start to float it means they are cooked . Wait for minute more and remove on a cutting board
Cut into small pieces as shown. They are tasty as it also to eat😊. But i will make a gravy to which i will add this gatte.
For the gravy Heat 1 tablespoon oil .
Add cumin to the oil and let it splutter.
Add onions to it and let them sweat .
Add ginger garlic paste once the onions are soft and tranlucent.
Meanwhile take curd in bowl
Add coriander powder to it
Into add cumin(jeera) powder
To it add some red chilli powder.
Add some more dry mango powder (amchoor) powder .
Finally add garam masala and make a fine paste .
Add paste of one tomato to the pan and roast well
To pan add the curd mix and turmeric powder and mix well . Immediately reduce the gas burner to very low . Slowly cook so that the curd doesnt curdles and keep mixing till it forms a nice gravy .
Keep cooking till oils starts leaving on the sides
Simmer till oil leaves
Add the gatte pieces and let it cook on low heat for 2 min
Finally add the fresh chopped coriander to it and serve with hot fulkas .
