Make Fresh Herbal Candles in a Crockpot

STEPS
TOOLS
For this batch, I chose lavender, patchouli, lemon verbena and rosemary from my garden.
Soy candle chips (from Michael's).
I collected various jars, washed and sanitized them.
Tear up a bunch of herbs and place in the jar.
Tonight's mix: lavender, patchouli, lemon verbena and rosemary.
Fill jar with wax chips.
Arrange in crock pot and pour boiling water around bottom of jars about 1/2 inch from lip of smallest jar.
Set crock pot on high for 2 hours. The herbs should infuse the wax with oils as the wax melts.
Take a kitty break and wait 2 hours!
Add more wax after 2 hours.
Stir in more herbs with chopstick.
Add essence oils. In this case, we used lavender.
Stir in oil essence and new wax chips as wax melts. Leave for another 2 hours.
Take another kitty break!
Set wicks once wax is fully melted. Use herb stems to keep wick in place.
Add in more fresh herbs.
We bought fragrance beads, lemon, to mix in to give the candles a boost of lemon and a confetti look.
Drop pearls in wax while warm enough that wax is liquidy, but not hot enough to melt the beads.
If beads stick, use herb stem to gently push down. Let sit and continue to cool.
One last kitty break and laundry session...
Let candle solidify.
Light & enjoy!
