How to make flavored ice from fresh snow

When it snows here in New England, I like to make flavored snow for my kids. Here is how you so it.

Gather one part sugar, two parts water, the color of food coloring that you want your ice to be, and a glass full of fresh (white) snow. Stick the snow in the refrigerator.

Put the sugar and the water in a pot on medium-high heat and make a simple syrup my dissolving the sugar in the water. Pull the syrup from the heat and add 3-4 drops of food coloring and mix. Let cool
