How to make fall decorations out of wine bottles

Remove label from wine bottle by soaking soapy water for a few hours. Remove what you can of the label and use a product like goo gone to remove any leftover adhesive

Pull off several strips of painters tape and lightly stick them on the counter or table

Overlap your strips so you get a large piece of tape that stays together

Using stencils or free form, draw your shapes (in this case leaves) out on your tape.

Pull the tape off the counter, being careful to keep the strips together and cut out your leaves. Place them on your bottle. I place mine randomly and use different shapes and sizes

I like to add rubber bands to mine to add another layer of design. Make sure the rubber bands are smooth and not twisted.

Once you have them all taped up, you are ready to paint

I used brown as my base, then lightly sprayed orange and finally used an orange glitter spray. Wait about ten minutes to dry and remove the tape and rubber bands.

I usually cut the rubber bands so I don't scratch the paint. Don't leave the paint dry on the tape and rubber bands too long.

I wrap the tops of my bottles with twine

And add so e small decorations

You can also frost them if you choose. I did not frost these because I like the color of the glass.

I use these to put flowers and leaves in along other arrangements
