How to make easy wall art

This is a simple easy project to make wall art of any size and color.

Start with craft sticks, about 2$, or you could use coffee stirrers. I used all the same width but you could mix it up.

Using a foam brush and acrylic paint start painting the sticks a variety of colors.

The beauty of this is that you don't have to be perfect! They only take a few minutes to dry as well.

Using some heavy duty scissors cut the sticks to varying lengths. Don't try to snap them, they'll just splinter.

Start gluing the sticks down... I used regular clear glue, but craft glue might be better. I used cheap canvas but an empty frame would work as well.

Mix and match the colors and sizes but don't worry too much about being perfect, in the end it won't matter.

I was not precise at all, but if you have to leave a gap at the end that's better than going way over.

Every now and then you've got to check and make sure you're staying straight and line all of them up.

I was not being perfect but you can shift them easily to straighten them up. If glue runneth over...no worries...it's clear!

When you finish go back and fill in any gaps on the edges.

Then add a few heavy books and let it sit overnight.

All done!! I'm working on a second one and will add a picture when they are hanging up together. May look messy up close but it looks great hanging!
