First of all, can we admire my new kitchen aid!! How much do you love the red? So excited. Okay now we'll actually get on with the pie crust recipe, since that's what ya'll are here for anyway. :)
Gather your chilled butter, mine needed a bit of an ice bath... It got too hot. :)
Cube it. The smaller the cubes the better.
Gather your flour in a large bowl, I used my new 6 qt kitchen aid bowl. In case any one was wondering. ;)
Dump in cold butter and beat with a whisk for a few seconds to combine. Then get your hands in there! Slowly add the water until it forms a workable dough.
Work with the dough, then break into 2 balls.
Securely wrap it like a burrito in parchment paper, or Saran wrap! Throw it in the fridge for 40 minutes - an hour, and then it's ready to go!
- 1.0c Salted Butter (or coconut oil)
- 1/2c Flour
- 1/4c Ice water
- 1.0pch Salt (optional)
