STEPS
INGREDIENTS
To create your dry rub, add 1/4 cup paprika
Add 2 tbsp garlic powder to the dry rub.
If you want spicy chicken legs, add 2 tbsp of chili powder and 1-2 tsp of cayenne pepper. If you want less spicy, add 1 tsp of chili powder.
Add 1 tsp of garlic salt to the mix.
Add 2 tsp of onion powder to the dry rub.
Add 1 tsp of black pepper to the rub.
Get your chicken legs. You can lollipop them here or remove the skin if you like, but I kept it on since it adds flavor. :)
I wanted my legs to have a sweet undertone, so I added honey. You can substitute oil or lemon juice. Add 1/2 - 1 tsp of honey per chicken leg.
Get a brush and evenly coat the legs.
Put the leg in the dry rub.
Evenly coat all sides.
Do this for the rest of the chicken legs.
Leave the legs in a pan and put in the smoker. We cooked them for 6 hours on 190 Fahrenheit. For the last hour we turned up the heat to 215 and took them out of the pan to crisp the outside.
Yum! These turned out magnificent. Enjoy with your favorite side.
