Mix the softened cream cheese and butter for 2 minutes on low speed

Add the powdered sugar, mix it in then add the vanilla extract. Put half if the mix in a separate bowl, then add the cherries to the remaining.

Spread between the cake layers, I usually make 3-4 layers

Crumble ice the cake -spread a very thin layer of the remaining cream cheese frosting - and put the cake in the freezer for 5 minutes

Spread the remaining cream cheese frosting on the cake evenly.

Decorate the cake and keep it in the fridge. Take the cake out about 30 minutes before serving it!
