I had the hardware store cut my boards 4' for the long ones and 2' for the short ones
I'm using a pocket hole jig to drill holes to attach the frame, but you can use any method
Every 12"
So they didn't cut them to length and I had to trim all of the boards to 4'
Marking lines for more pocket holes
The two boards at the bottom have holes drilled on both sides because they will go in the middle of the 2 larger boards
Like this
Glued them up and clamped them in place
Then screwed in
Flipped over and cleaned the glue that squeezed out
I marked the shorter board to length
Then cut to fit
I used 2 pocket holes on the ends
Glued, clamped and screwed
So far so good
These are the measurements for the hole
Traced out the circle
Drill a pilot hole
Then cut out with a jig saw
Sand everything smooth
I'm going to use a 3/8th round over router bit
Before
Setting depth
After
Routed all the ends and blew them off with the compressor
All clean, ready for stain
Setting up the letters in the router template
This is their wedding date
Cleaning up the ends with a chisel
All done
