STEPS
INGREDIENTS
Boil your eggs for about 5-8 minutes.
Peel your eggs and cut them in half. Take your yolk and put it on a separate bowl.
Prepare your coloring station. I added the vinegar here about 1 teaspoon each bowl.
Then add your hot water from the boiling eggs you made up until the middle of your bowl.
This is what I use to color my eggs. I use this for coloring my frosting for my cupcakes
These are very concentrated. Use this one conservatively drop at a time.
Purple: 4 drops of blue and 2 drops of red. Mix them with your spoon then drop your cut eggs on your bowl and wait until the eggs turn the color that you like.
Voilah! My girls love mixing colors and got creative. Go find your creative colors.
How to make your devil eggs filling
I use approximately 1/3 cup of mayo. I suggest take a spoon of mayo at a time and start mixing before adding more just to make sure it's not too runny.
I use approximately 1/2 teaspoon of relish
I chopped my red onions so small so it can go thru my Wilton tip. Mix your egg yolks and all ingredients together including your salt until its smooth.
This is my #22 Wilton tip I used.
Once the filling is mixed together add it on your bag and you are ready to fill your eggs. Make sure to dry it with a paper towel before you fill it up to avoid a runny devil eggs.
Once you are done filling, add your cayenne pepper or if you don't want the spice but like the pretty red looks use annato seeds powder or achiote.
Voilah, you are ready to serve.
