INGREDIENTS
preheat oven the bake pie crust as instructed on package or recipe
make sure to weight down the pie crust
mix your sugar and the cornstarch
get your egg yolks by cracking the egg and moving the egg yolks from one side of the shell to the other until only the yolk is left
gather the ingredients that you have not gathered already
mic the sugar mixture
beat the half and half with the egg yolks
put sugar mixture into heavy saucepan
gradually add the egg mixture to the sugar mixture then heat to boiling boil for 1 min
remove from heat stir in butter, coconut, vanilla
cover with plastic wrap directly on the custard let sit in fridge till cooled
gather whipped cream ingredients
beat whipping cream on high til foamy
gradually add sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form
put filling into crust
top with whipped cream evenly
make peaks on the whipped cream top with toasted coconut
place tooth pics where your going to cut the pie then wrap in plastic wrap put in fridge till you eat it
- 1.0 pie crust
- 1/2c sugar
- 1/4c cornstarch
- 2.0c half and half
- 4.0 egg yolks
- 3.0Tbsp butter
- 1.0c flaked coconut
- 1/2tsp vanilla
- 2.0c whipping cream
- 1/3c sugar
- 1.0Tbsp toasted coconut
