INGREDIENTS
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease your doughnut pan with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
Gather your ingredients.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium to low heat, stirring occasionally. Butter will crackle and form as it brown. Once it is light brown in color, remove from heat asap and add to a small bowl.
In a medium mixing bowl, mix together flour and sugar.
Add baking powder.
Add baking soda.
Add salt.
Add cinnamon. Mix together and set aside.
In a stand mixer, whisk together buttermilk.
Add vanilla extract.
Add egg.
Add 2 tablespoons of the browned butter. Whisk together.
Add dry ingredients to your wet ingredients.
Spoon batter into a large ziploc bag and use a scissor to cut a a corner. Use you makeshift pastry bag to fill each doughnut well to about 3/4 full. Bake for 9-12 minutes and allow to cool on a rack.
Meanwhile combine sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan.
Lightly brush each donut with butter.
Roll around in cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.
Enjoy immediately!
