Make Chocolate Soup- Vanilla Cookies- Stearns

INGREDIENTS
preheat oven to 350ºF
ingredients
Stir 1/2 Cup of the milk and 3 Tbs of the flour together in small bowl until smooth
Bring 4 1/2 Cups milk just to the simmer in a medium saucepan over medium heat
Chop 4 oz. of semi sweet chocolate until fine
To make the cookies, beat 1/2 cups softened butter and 1 cup white sugar in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy
It should look like this when mixed
Beat in an egg and 1 Tbs of vanilla extract

Combine 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a bowl and mix the dry ingredients thoroughly into butter mixture
bake in preheated oven until edges of cookies are golden brown, 12-15 minutes
While the cookies are baking, make the rest of the chocolate soup
Ladle 1 cup of the simmering milk over the chocolate in a heatproof bowl. let sit 1 minute, then whisk to dissolve the chocolate.
Stir the chocolate mixture into the simmering milk.
Strain the flour mixture into the saucepan
Stir in 2 Tbs of sugar, 1 Tbs unsalted butter and a pinch of cinnamon. Return to a simmer and cook, stirring until thickened and smooth, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand a minute or two
When the cookies are done, take them out and cool on wire racks
Ladle the soup into warm bowls

- 4.0oz semisweet chocolate
- 2.0Tbsp sugar
- 1.0Tbsp unsalted butter
- Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2c Softened Butter
- 1.0c White Sugar
- 1.0 Egg
- 1.0Tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/3c All-Purpose Flour
- 3/4tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4tsp Salt
