How to make chocolate & date weetbix slice

This is a family favourite that is easy to bake and makes the most of the crumbled Weetbix left at the bottom of the packet I like to think its a little healthier than your average slice.

Great for school lunches, to start mix all the dry ingredients into a bowl, add the chopped dates and mix

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius , grease a slice baking tray

Melt butter and syrup in microwave for approx 1 minute or until soft

Mix with hands until combined

Whilst slice is baking, combine ingredients for icing

Remove from oven slice and ice while warm but leave in tray and place in fridge until hardens. Eat :-))

  • 6.0 Weetbix crushed/leftover Weetbix crumbs
  • 1/2c Brown sugar
  • 1/4c Cacao or cocoa powder
  • 1/2c S/R Flour
  • 1/2c Coconut
  • 3.0Tbsp Melted butter
  • 3.0Tbsp Golden Syrup
  • Icing
  • 1.0c 1 cup of icing sugar
  • 1.0Tbsp 1 tablespoon of cocoa or cacao
  • 2.0tsp Butter
  • 2.0tsp Boiling water
