Measure 3/4 cup of sugar, and add to mixing bowl.
Measure 3/4 cup of brown sugar, and add to mixture.
Measure 1 cup of shortening and cream with sugar. Then add to mixing bowl.
Your mixture of sugar should look like this after adding shortening.
Crack two eggs, and add to mixture. Be careful not to drop in the egg shells. Stir until the eggs have dissolved or disappeared into the mixture.
Measure 2 cups of quick cook oatmeal, and stir into the mixing bowl.
Add 6-8 ounces of chocolate chips, and stir in.
Measure 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a 1/2 cup of salt, and add to mixture.
Measure 1 3/4 cups of flour and stir until the texture goes from runny to a thicker consistency.
Measure 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract; pour in, and stir.
Using a spoon, scoop a golf-ball sized scoop of mixture, from the bowl and place on cookie sheet in rows of 3 by 4.
This is what your rows of cookie dough should look like before placing in the oven.
Set timer, and bake for 8 minutes.
Remove from oven with an oven mitt.
Carefully remove cookies from cookie sheet. Place on cooling rack.
