STEPS
INGREDIENTS
Prep the veggies: Grate the carrots, chop the onion and garlic.
Rinse the chickpeas and place in a bowl. Use a hand mixer or a food processor to get the right texture.
Then add the grated carrot..
..the crumbled feta cheese..
..as well as the onion and garlic.
Stir.
Now add breadcrumbs and egg. Next time I will try with panko instead of breadcrumbs just for the variation, or perhaps a little bit of both.
Season with chili powder, cayenne, salt & pepper.
It is also nice to add some herbs, like parsley or basil. I added about 1 tblsp frozen herbs.
Form either burgers or smaller patties depending on how you plan to eat them.
Fry in olive oil and/or butter.
I used a skillet which I think gives the best result.
While the patties are on the stove, prep the sauce. Mix Turkisk or Greek yogurt with ajvar, sambal oelek, a splash of lemon juice and salt & pepper.
Spicy chickpea patties ready to be devoured!
Serve them as you like: In a pita bread with salad and ajvar sauce, or with a warm or cold salad.
Enjoy this tasty dinner!
