How to make chicken and rice nyc style - stands
NY is far away from but many days il crave their chicken and rice. I have tried to come close to flavors as possible. It turned out really good

INGREDIENTS
Cut your chicken in cubes
Now add curry masala 1/2 tsp
1/2 tsp cumin powder
Pinch of tandoori masala
1/2 tsp salt and black pepper I added this much it all depends on how much chicken you have. Also add your garlic and mix then let it marinate for few hours
Now for sauce chop half onion very small
Get your sour cream, mayo and Greek yogurt mix away. Add your salt, garlic , onions and dill
Shred your cucumber and remove all excess water with your hand
Now add cucumber to the sauce , taste then let all the flavors set in fridge
So while everything is marinating am going to start my rice. People ask me all the time how I get perfect rice just look at finger The second line is where the water should reach
As you can see my finger has touched the bottom of the rice cooker. The water level is just right towards my second line
Add turmeric
While rice is boiling. Add oil and stir fry chicken
Once you see a little white add chopped onions
Now add tomato sauce like half a can then I put about 3 tbs of hot chili sauce. This is according to my taste. The chicken is not suppose to be spicy but its suppose to give a kick. Cook 30 mins
Place your yellow rice on bottom then your chicken then drizzle the white sauce. Enjoy I came close enough to have it taste like the stands in NY

- Boneless chicken
- Tandoori mix
- 1/2tsp Curry powder
- 1/2tsp Cumin powder
- Salt / black pepper
- Garlic
- Tomato sauce
- Chili sauce
- 1.0 Onion
- For white sauce
- 1/2 Onion
- 1/2c Cucumber
- 1.0tsp Dill
- Salt
- Garlic
- 1/2c Sour cream
- 1/2c Greek yogurt
- 2.0Tbsp Mayo
