How to make cheesy potatoes

This cheesy potato recipe can be altered with different cheese or toppings. Enjoy!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cut butter into cubes. Place in a 9 x 13 glass dish.  Put in oven.

While the butter is melting, mix sour cream and cream of chicken in a bowl.

Take the pan out of the oven, pour hashbrowns over the melted butter. Mix together. Careful not to burn yourself.

Add sour cream/cream of chicken mixture to the potatoes. Stir together to coat all the potatoes.

Add shredded cheese to the potatoes. Stir together so cheese is mix in well. SECRET: sometimes I add an additional 1/4 cup of sharp chedder cheese for extra flavor!

Now it's ready to go in the oven. Cover and bake for 1 hour or until the potatoes are soft. Depending on your oven you may need to bake longer than 1 hour.

Yum!!! You can top with crushed potato chips if you wish.

  • 8.0oz Shredded mild cheddar
  • 32.0oz Frozen shredded hash brown
  • 16.0oz Sour cream
  • 10.0oz Cream of chicken
  • Plain potato chips (optional)
