Insert skewers deeply into core of the apples.

For chocolate covered apples: Heat chocolate chips in a bowl over boiling water, stir often.

For chocolate covered apples: Heat chocolate chips in a bowl over boiling water, stir often.

For caramel apples: Heat caramel in microwave for two minutes with two tbsp of milk. Stir every 20 seconds.

Tip: to help the caramel/chocolate stick to the apple, dip the apples into boiling water for 5 seconds. This will help remove its waxy coating.

Dip apples in the chocolate either half way or to the top depending on your preference.

Prepare your favorite toppings: chopped m&ms, pecans, sprinkles, etc.

Gently compress and rotate the apple against the toppings.

Place on parchment paper. Butter paper to prevent sticking.
