Just like my other lotion bar guide, all ingredients need to be food grade. Check the labels. Buy from reputable herb shoppe. All measurements are by weight.
I put all the oils in a bowl. Most larger oil company's have their own bug mix. If you can not find one, they are a mix of citronella, tea tree, lavender, peppermint, patchouli.
Pure raw beeswax.
Vitamin E helps maintain shelf life. It also has other health benefits. I'm not a doctor so I'm not making any of those claims. Look it up if you want to know. We want it to make it last longer.
Use a kitchen digital scale.
Throw beeswax in double boiler. I use a measuring cup in a pot.
Once completely melted add almond oil.
It will cloud up when you add it. Reheat.
When that is done add the Shea butter.
After all is completely melted remove from heat. Then stir in the oils. I put some in a candy tin for when I go hiking.
This made 7 mini bars and filled a altoid tin. If you are in a hurry you can throw them in the freezer for a few minutes
Just like the other lotion bars, just rub in your hands. Then rub in exposed areas. Happy camping.

- 60.0 Drops lemongrass oil
- 60.0 Drops Cedarwood oil
- 60.0 Drops Bug oil mix
- 0.0tsp Vitamin E oil
- 2.0oz Raw food grade beeswax
- 2.0oz Almond oil
- 2.0oz Shea butter
