I'm making two types of wash today: Lemon Verbena Balance Body Wash...
...and Charcoal Melaleuca (tea tree) Face Wash with Vitamins B and C. Use your favorites, and you can't go wrong.
For both the body wash and face wash, you'll need 2.5 Tbs liquid Glycerine. Available in the first aid section.
Start by shredding your soap.
I'm using a microplane box grater. A knife or a food processor can also be used.
Nice shreds! These are charcoal soap shreds for the face wash.
Add your shreds and glycerine to your pot, and pour in 12 cups of filtered water. If you're using vitamins (I used 55 mg. of vitamins for the face wash) add those at this time.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring. Reduce heat to low and whisk with your electric mixer. You can also use a handheld whisk.
Remove from heat. Add essential oils, whisk to incorporate. Be sure the oils are for topical use. These are doTerra therapeutic grade oils, available here: https://www.mydoterra.com/globalstore/#/
Empty into containers, and cool overnight on counter. It will thicken significantly once cooled.
Once cooled, depending on the thickness, you may need whisk in hot filtered water to achieve desired texture. The body wash was extremely thick after cooled, so I whisked in 32 Oz boiling water.
The face wash was the ideal consistency and didn't need additional water. I whisked and it was done. Lemon Verbena Balance Body Wash on left, Charcoal Melaleuca Face Wash on left. Finished products!
