STEPS
INGREDIENTS
Cake ingredients.
I used a 11x15 inch glass baking pan. Spray/grease very well. Line with parchment paper and spray again. Set aside.
In a small pot heat milk and margarine until just boiling.
Combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt in a large bowl.
Beat until creamy.
Add flour and baking powder. Beat well. It will be stiff.
Add hot milk mixture. And continue beating till smooth and fluffy.
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 F for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Topping ingredients.
Combine in a small bowl. Set aside.
Take topping...
As soon as cake is done spread topping over as best as you can. Use the back of a spoon or your fingers. Set oven to broil 425f.
Broil for 2-4 minutes. Do not leave unattended!
Let cake cool completely!
When cake is cooled its time for the tricky part! Place toothpicks around the cakes middle to help guide you, use a sharpe knife to cut it in half.
Slip in piece of parchment paper and remove top half.
Filling ingredients.
Put filling ingredients in a large bowl.
Beat it real good.
Spoon onto middle of bottom half. Starting at the middle spread it evenly.
Watch out for filling stealers!!
Replace top half of cake. For best results freeze the cake wrapped in parchment paper. It's great to have in the freezer for company. It is a large cake. Serves12-18 people!
