In a small bowl pour in 2 cups of warm water, 1 pack or 1 tbs of instant rise yeast, and 1 tbs of sugar. Mix and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl add 5 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 1/2 tbs baking powder, and 6 tbs shortening. Mix until ingredients are combined..then add your water and yeast mixture.
