INGREDIENTS
Gather ingredients. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Measure out 4 cups of dry oats. Use any kind of oats. The difference is only texture and cooking time. As long as they are dry.
1 cup brown sugar.
Mix well.
Like this.
In separate bowl, melt 1/2 cup butter.
Like so. I used the microwave.
Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to butter.
Mix well.
Add to oats mix.
Mix well.
Pour onto cookie sheet. It's nice if sheet has sides to contain the mix.
Spread out. Place in preheated 300 degree oven. The goal is to dry them again.
After 15 min. Turn, spread out again, back in oven.
15 min more it's starting to turn into 'bark'. Break apart, turn and back in.
Keep checking each 15 min till dry again. May have formed these nuggets that will stay crunchy in milk. Yum!
Allow to cool. I placed mine on some wax paper in a pan.
When cool, place in air tight container. I love these containers from Wal-Mart!
My children like granola with milk for a quick breakfast before school. Enjoy!
