This dehydrator was given to me by my mother-in-law. It's over 20 years old & still working!
Use a yellow banana. Not green or brown. A few small brown spots is ok, but the banana should be firm, but ripe.
Slice your banana between 1/8th & 1/4 inch thick. Next prep your water to soak the bananas to help prevent too much browning.
I used lemon. I did a good squeeze in the water. Or use a spoonful of Citric acid or Fresh Fruit in the water.
Soak the banana slices for about 10 min. This will help them from browning too much.
Lay out the slices on your dehydrator tray. I have read, after the fact, that bananas may stick to the plastic trays, so using your mesh sheets under the slices will help with this. Next time for me.
For my dehydrator, I set the temperature for 135° and letting it go for 10-12 hours or until desired doneness is achieved.
I have read online that temperature settings range from 120°-150° & time from 6-24 hours. Please see your manual.
All dried up & about the texture of fruit leather. I bagged them up, but they didn't last long lol Done & Yum! Enjoy!
