First, peel and quarter the potatoes and put them in a pot as if you are making mashed potatoes.
Next, add the cans of soup to a large soup pot and add 3 cans full of milk as well.
Let the mixture come to a slow boil, the add the sour cream and combine it well.
When the potatoes in the other pot are soft mash them. Its okay if they are a little lumpy. It adds texture! Add some milk if needed. When they are mashed, add them to the large soup pot and stir.
Add the ham or bacon!
When everything is combined and boiling, add the cheese and allow it to thicken. Once everything is mixed and warm, your soup is ready to serve. You can add milk and butter to thin it out if you like.

- 4.0 Cream of potato soup
- 1.0 Cheddar cheese soup
- 2.0Tbsp Light sour cream
- 2.0c Shredded cheese (any variety)
- 5.0 Large potatoes
- 5.0Tbsp Butter
