Step 1: Place bacon in a large deep skillet
Step 2: Cook bacon over medium heat until brown
Step 3: Drain, crumble, and set aside the cooked bacon
Step 4: In a stock pot, or a Dutch oven melt the margarine over medium heat
Step 5: Whisk in flour and gradually stir milk into the melted margarine until it's thick
Step 6: Stir in potatoes and onions into the mixture and bring to a boil. Then stir frequently.
Step 7: Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
